Float glass is one of the purest forms of glass, virtually free from surface impurities with an even surface. The float glass technique was invented in the 1950s by Alistair Pilkington, a British man, who though no relation worked for the famous Pilkington glass company.

Pilkington’s achievement was enable the creation of glass with almost perfectly parallel surfaces with the distortion-free qualities of ground and polished glass.

In the hands of Paul Snajdar, float glass has been fashioned into a fabulous range of av furniture made almost entirely of pure glass, with the exception of the legs and castors.
